The Vancouver Island Music Academy is hosted by Brentwood College. Sheltered on the pristine coastline of Vancouver Island, the College’s 77-acre campus has over one kilometre of waterfront facing the Gulf Islands and stunning views of a snow-capped Mount Baker. The College is located forty kilometres north of Victoria and is adjacent to the village of Mill Bay. With access to world class facilities like the Arts Building and the Main Stage of the T. Gil Bunch Theatre for Performing Arts, along with the use of several Bechstein and Steinway Grand Pianos, students at VIMA study and perform music in the most ideal and optimal settings.

Vancouver Island Music Academy

Our third season in Vancouver Island is taking place from Thursday, August 1 - Friday, August 16 2024.

Brentwood College is located forty kilometres north of Victoria and is adjacent to the village of Mill Bay (population 3,250). It is less than one hour's drive from Swartz Bay Ferry terminals and Victoria International Airport.

The unique location of VIMA enables our students and faculty to make music together in nature. With mountains on one side, and the Pacific Ocean on the other, one is surrounded by nature and scenery that is unmatched anywhere in the world. This immersion in nature inspired great composers like Beethoven and Brahms, much like it will inspire you.

We could not possibly imagine a more magnificent campus for our Academy than Brentwood College. Apart from the gorgeous scenery and location, the facilities at Brentwood were tailor-made for a memorable summer of music making. The Academy will have its very own two-story Arts Building with spacious and modern music and practicing rooms, some of which are big enough to accommodate a full symphony orchestra. Most of our lessons, classes, and rehearsals will take place in this Arts Building.

VIMA's indoor concerts and musical theatre productions are held in the world class T. Gil Bunch Theatre for Performing Arts. With 431 seats and impeccable accoustics, this Concert Hall gives our performers a truly magnificent setting to showcase their hard work and talent.

Our students, parents and faculty all live in newly renovated residence houses that are a short walk away from the Arts Building and Concert Hall, and provided with incredible 5-star meals everyday. Apart from our music program, they also have access to various recreational activities on campus such as tennis, basketball, soccer, track and field and much more! As an added bonus, our new facility also provides the opportunity for parents and guests to enjoy one of the most relaxing and beautiful holidays imaginable, one that only Vancouver Island can provide.
